| I perform most of my stand up on
the London circuit, but I also gig as far afield as Great
Yarmouth, Warrington, Exeter, Hull, Glasgow, Washington DC, Brighton,
Manchester and Narnia, though I am willing to concede that the gig
in Narnia may have been a dream. I still stormed it though, despite
some particularly aggressive heckling from a group of pissed-up fauns.
Some of the venues I’ve played include The Comedy Store, Up the
Creek, Downstairs at the King's Head, The Comedy Café, The Chuckle
Club and Soho Theatre (all in London) as well as
The Frog and Bucket in Manchester, The Stand in both Edinburgh and Glasgow,
Jesters in Bristol, Just the Tonic in Nottingham, and Komedia in Brighton.
I have also appeared in the final of London Comedy Festival Allstars
competition,
just by being funny.
In August 2006, I performed my debut hour-long stand up show Mark
Allen's Quite Good Britain for three weeks at the Edinburgh festival,
which was very well received. I'm currently working on the notoriously
tricky follow-up show for next year, so look out for more information
about that on this very website.
As well as stand up comedy, I also write sitcoms, radio plays, comedy
sketches, stage plays and lists of things to do that I never actually
get round to doing. To read more about my writing escapades, click here.
If you want to see where I'm performing in the near future, check out
my gig list, which is here.
